I'm hoping to buy a Graphic View II and it may be necessary to purchase from an overseas seller. Can anyone tell me what a GVII weighs?
Thanks

The first "Graflex View" model, without a lens but with the pan-and-tilt mount, weighs a few ounces less than eight pounds. A "View II," with its longer rail (and, probably, more complex "Graflok" back) might weigh a couple of ounces more, but I don't think the total weight would exceed 8 lb., or not by more than an ounce or so at worst. |

Add some for box and packing material. I just received a couple of books from the UK and it took longer to unwrap them then it took for the boat from the UK-)
I'm curious that nothing else is available locally? Even if you have to pay more for the camera you'll save the shipping. |

Okay, got my curiosity up
Just weighed my GVII on the kitchen scale.
Comes in at 9 3/4 pounds!
This camera has standard lens, graflok back, tripod mount and compendium hood...
The compendium hood seems to weigh in at just over a 1/2 pound... So a complete camera, minus the hood, would be about 9 pounds...

I sold a GVII, just about a month ago, through the dreaded auction site and all packed and shipped the receipt said it weighed in at 11 pounds and 10 oz, so with packaging, I would be you would be safe at 12 pounds...

To those who helped out with the weight of a GV -- thanks very much.
