Hello all,
I've seen a lot of 3-A's on eBay lately for very low prices. What film were they designed to take? What should I know about them? I was surprised there is nothing about them on the site that I could find and a Dogpile search of the web turned up almost nothing. I thought a medium format reflex camera I could put different lenses on would be kind of neat. Maybe adapt it to take a rollfilm back. What do you think?

The 3A camera was used in the trenches in WWI, heavy! Made from 1907 thru 1926---Lots of the old steam engine photos shot with this one!
Postcard 3-1/4x 5-1/2 on #3a film--small lensboard, only 3x3--Lenses>Tessar Serllb>
Tessar Ser lc>Protar Ser Vlla!
I modified mine to use 120 film--photos really have a unique look to them>>Great<<
Weird setup when closing was the only drawback, as it kept the tension spring wound tight all the time--Email me for photos
and modifications. Bert
