I was surprised not to find any information on the Graflex Norita 120 SLR in this web site. I would appreciate any info anyone could provide, especially concerning it's quality and reliability.

I used to use a Norita for wedding photography back in the 70's. Loved the camera and really enjoyed using it. The lenses seemed good and never had any problems with them. The body was prone to locking up,(would not advance the film and reset the mirror) Mine locked up at a Wedding had to finish out with a Mamiya C330. Since I Live in Rochester,NY I was able to go to the Graflex Factory and have a Tech fix it on the spot. After that time I never had any problems. I often regretted that I sold my Norita, because it handled very nicely.

Greetings,

There is some information about the Norita on the Medium Format website. Open up the following and scroll down to "Norita 66" and "Norita 66 Manual Online" (The first selection will provide you with several e-mails from Norita users, such as yourself. You may be able contact these folks for further information.):

http://people.smu.edu/rmonagha/mf/cameras.html

This is an awesome website! With a lot of links to Graflex products.

There is nothing worse than owning a classic that you love, only to lack a support system!
This is one of the great advantages of this website...the great people you get in touch with along the way! Best of luck! If you have touble accessing this website let me know.

I work at Fairborn Camera and Video, and we had a used Norita, and I fell in love with that camera! It was everything I was looking for in a Med format camera, but my co-workers detered me from buying it, saying that you couldnt get anything for it. But I didnt care. I wanted it. When I finally had enough money for it, I learned that they had sold it to another customer. I almost cried. Does anyone know where I could get another one with at leaste two lenses?

Watch Ebay regularly. http://www.ebay.com I have found rare items for my camera collection that I have been looking for the during the past 25 years. Make sure you check the feedback profile of the seller. Also, ask the seller as many questions as required. You'll find another Norita....they are not that uncommon. Be patient and wait for one that is in excellent condition. Good luck!

I was reading McKeown's latest book (at the bookstore, I couldn't get my house refinanced to buy the book) and he states that the Norita was a much rarer camera 25 years ago, but since then the government has let go with lots of 'em. The price has come down considerably.
