I have this 4X5 SLR. I would very much like to have a 120 roll film back for this. I don't know if any of these were made. The other option seems to be to modify the back to a GRAFLOK back. Does anyone have an idea of who could make this modification ?
Thanks

They did make knob wind roll holders for Graflex backs. instead of saying "23 Graphic" on the back of the roll film holder, it will say "23 Graflex".

These roll holders for your camera are on ebay fairly often. There are three versions -- 6 x 6, 6 x 7, and 6 x 9 which I think are the film exposure opening measurments in centimeters. With the 6 x 6, you get 12 exposures per roll, 8 exposures with the 6 x 9 -- don't know about the 6 x 7. |

there are two series of (usable) roll film backs. The first series had only two formats--2 1/4 x 2 1/4 and 2 1/4 x 3 1/4, But they were made for all three size cameras 2x3 3x4 and 4x5. they were also made for Graflex cameras and Graphic cameras.
Today these are called "knob wind backs". and for you they need to say "22 Graflex" or "23 Graflex"
Later on gralex developed the lever wind back for for the XL model and they came in three formats but only for the 2x3 and 4x5 cameras and I'm pretty sure only for the Graphic back, not the Graflex.
If you look hard you can also find a Suydam holder for 120. |
