Hmmm....two thoughts:, is the condenser set in the right position?...I haven't used an MX that old, but this is assuming that the top condenser has to be set as well.....or it could be the lens. I had a 75mm Nikkor f4 once and it just barely covered a 2 1/4 square neg. So, maybe try using the longer lenses?? I use a 105 and a 135 for my 2 1/4 stuff now. Hope this helps.
