what sort of technician?

If you can manage the developing and then print/scan the negs, B&W 4x5 is really pretty cheap to do.
After all these years, I _still_ don't have my darkroom set up, which may get a chuckle out of Les But next week I start building the walls! Maybe this is the year!
So I contact print. I've also gotten decent result in scanning negs using a light box on top of the neg on my flat bed scanner. Don't know how that would work for color, but for B&W, it ain't bad...
Technically, I'm an electronics tech. Moved into programming. Was an auto tech (mechanics, then body & paint). Also do wood, metal, leather, and sometimes cameras... Gotta have a hobby!
And we are really getting out of topic here

why, thank you, Dave, for your compliments. My frank nature can tend to get me into trouble so I will try to be a little behaved anyway
I should hope to be shooting with the new Speed Graphic this weekend for the first time, so please keep your fingers crossed that all will turn out ok
