I took my 4x5 Crown to Hawaii two months ago. I put the crown, holders(unloaded) and film(a brand new sealed box inside a baggie) in a day pack and carried it on. When I got to the x-ray, I requested a hand inspection of the film---no problem. You can UPS your exposed film to your home if you're concerned about requesting a hand inspection of an unsealed box of film. I've spent lots of time in Alaska---great country! You'll have fun and get some great shots guaranteed!
