We're at Mr. Deeds Goes to Washington, at the Stanford Theatre. The poster for thr movie from 1936 shows, in an inset under Jean Arthur and Gary Cooper, a man in a hat arriving with fanfare, and two photographers--one with a Graflex Reflex and another man with a speed on a tripod and a flashbulb holder in hand--a good sign.

Jabber has really weird use of namespaces. They have a few elements that they use over and over in different namespaces to mean different things. It's weird. Also they re-invented URIs and call them JIDs. Why?

With Becky at the English version of Sen to Chihiro (Spirited Away). Becky is reading the 4th Harry Potter bok and I have the O'Reilly Jaber boook. Altogether an uncharacteristically nerdy evening. Continuing in that vein, we both noticed the name tag on the usher was SUMIT and I really wanted to press it.

I put a bike bell on my steering wheel and ding it at drivers who annoy me. It sounds suitably loud, at least inside my car, and helps reduce anxiety.

I'm at Fry's buying a $39.99 802.11b PCMCIA card for my father, and I saw a CD for sale that has the most amzing title: "Learn HTML Over the Internet!" I wonder how hard it was to learn HTML before the Internet...

It sounds like the Hiptop/Sidekick won't be out until October, so I fixed up a gateway from my T900 pager to this weblog. Kinda dinky, but it works. Not as good as this either.

The XForms meeting went well. A few more weeks of work and then it's time for people to implement it! (Though quite a few have...) Watch this space for more information, or see how IBM says you should Get Ready for XForms.

I'm switching to blogger format. They keep the data on their servers, but post the page to mine, it appears. I've made the old links work, but haven't unified the September 2002 page, so earlier entries are available only on the archived pages below.
