Xerox Signs Six-Year, $50 Million Contract with WellChoice, Inc.

Yahoo business reports:

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 29, 2003-- Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX - News) today announced a contract renewal valued at approximately $50 million over the next six years with WellChoice, Inc., the largest health insurer in New York. The contract, which includes a combination of Xerox's services and digital office solutions, expands an existing seven-year relationship.

...To reduce document-related expenses, Xerox is also transitioning some of WellChoice's traditional, paper-based business processes into more efficient, digitally-based transactions. Xerox digital office multifunction systems and FlowPort(r) software are being used to route documents from hardcopy to digital, allowing the insurer to securely store and quickly access business-critical documents.

...In addition, Xerox is consolidating the company's printer, copier and multifunction fleet and upgrading older systems with equipment that improves office productivity, including 80 WorkCentre(r) Pro networked digital multifunction systems and 73 network printers from the Phaser(r) line. The WorkCentre Pro systems, announced in April, offer the strength of Xerox digital multifunction technology -- printing, copying, faxing, scanning and e-mailing -- and integrate with third-party solutions.
