|
|
Hi
I have bought two Graflex RB Series D, one from around 1931, the other from 1937. Although there are not many years between them, the curtain of the first one seem to be dried out while the curtain from the last one is in very good condition.
Is there anything I can do for the first curtain? Any form of lubrication?
Thank you! |

Download Graflex Shutter Repair PDF at https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1sPJkp-MdghRkRId1EwT0dpNkk/view?usp=sharing&resourcekey=0-JlLEG0Yi_nEVpc73579Mpw
I do not know what products are available in your part of the world.
Pledge furniture polish in the yellow can helps soften the rubber coating as does tire wet, the stuff you apply to your car tires to make them look new and wet.
Pressing the shutter with a steam iron on Silk setting helps seal minor cracks in the rubber coating.
Read this thread especially the latter posts
