The Miniature Speed Graphic is based on the Anniversary Speed Graphic so the instructions for the Anny will apply to the Mini.

Is the shutter release lever returning to the home position? Has the wind key set against the stop, will it turn opposite the wind arrow? Will the curtain wind beyond the C aperture? With the shutter release held in the release position will turning the wind key opposite direction of the wind arrow cause the curtain to run down?

The wind/release mechanism may be dry and binding.

Actually i bit the bullet and took the 5 small screws out of the back - tere are two small studs holding the leaf spring on the left hand side - one of the studs had worked its way out and was catching on the small metal strip on the FPS - reset the stud in and now it fires off just fine

Thanks anyway for your help

That "leaf spring" is the contact for the flash socket that contacts the metal strip on the shutter curtain so it fires the flash in time for the flash bulb to be close to its peak output as the aperture opening passes over the film plane.

The flash sync only works with FP type flash bulbs.

Good to hear it only caught an aperture stay/stiffener and did not tear the curtain.

Thats interesting - i was wondering what those strips were for
Havent triued the flash unit at all yet - still stumbling around the camera
Took it for a quick outing using the 23 roll back - double exposed two frames and i think i forgot to pull the dark slide twice Doh
theres a lot to think about with them i see - i think i managed to open the front shutter each time - just have to wait for the results

Cheers
Nick
