I was wondering if the supermatic shutter (1/1000 top speed) is able to be used with other modern optics screwed in at all?
if so - is it a standard Copal size equivalent, or unique and custom?
many thanks |

While I don't have the data to back this up, I"m gonna say that that the Supermatic shutters made in the USA, used US thread dimensions, while the copal used metric.
I do have proof that Kodak revised their lens mounts when Kodak dropped the Supermatic shutter in 1954 and moved to a Compur shutter.
So if Kodak modified their old glass to fit into the (modern) Copal, then I would think you'd have a hard rime finding modern glass to be an "unmodified" fit. _________________ "In order to invent, you need a good imagination and a lot of junk" Thomas Edison |

I own two 127 Ektars, EA/Supermatic and RO/Synchro-Compur.
They cannot be interchanged, I tried. |
