Ok, Ok, I know I weirded y'all out on the "Grafield".

Here's my newest concoction. I aquired a 31/4 X 41/4 speed. Since the film is no longer available, and since I had a Hassey back with parts missing,,,,

I made a plate so the back could be mounted to the speed. How did it work with a spring back? I had some parts from a Graflex back and modified it to fit the smaller body.

Now the ground glass can be inserted and locked down, then you unlock the back, remove the whole groundglass and hood and slide the Hassey back in place.

Lock down with the top slide lock, cock the shutter, remove darkslide and take pic. Reinsert darkslide and you are done! The back is manually wound and you look through the back to see the number on the paper. Kinda like the old Rolleicords and Yashicas.

3 hours later an unuseable camera is put back into service, and NO problems with film flatness. Remember, Victor is the expert on med. format!

Whaddya think?

Steve

I'm impressed!!! A focal plane shutter and barrel lens actually being used. A sure quality conversation piece. Harry

Maybe I'm reading your post wrong Harry, but the camera is quite useable.

I have other lenses with shutters, this is the lens I chose to photog the camera with. Although, the FP is quite accurate.

I have found that the real conversation piece is the quality of negs from a $35.00 camera.

Steve,

I don't know about others, but I can't open up your pictures and I am curious since I love Graflex and Hasselblad products. Could you send a couple photos to me via e-mail?

j.p.mose@lmco.com

Best regards,

J.P. Mose
