Does anyone know were to get a "Slip On Lens Hood" for my Kodak Extar 101mm F4.5 lens for my 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 camera. It looks like it should be 32 mm, if I measured right.
It has to be a slip On one as there are no threads on this lens.

It's probably 31.5 mm, not 32. Kodak didn't list a 32mm slip ring, according to company literature in my collection; they did make a 33mm. This (31.5) is probably the most common size in a series VI slip ring, and a little searching on Google, or, better yet, at camera shows and/or the "junk" drawer at your local camera store, should turn up one of these sooner or later. You could also try Midwest Photo Exchange at http://www.mpex.com . Call them; this item may not appear in their lists.

Thanks, I'll give them a try, and thanks for getting me the right size.

A Tiffen 32mm/Series VI ring fits my 101 f4.5 Ektar nicely.

This sounds correct as the Ektar 101 can be a little bigger than the 101 Optar and 103 triplet lenses, which the 31.5 slips on nicely. One can work around the slip on blades opening the diameter slightly, but it is not as good a fit on the Ektar, and the last post may very well be correct that a 32mm may be the item for these.

While I don't doubt anything that's been said on this topic up to now (especially--*ahem*--my own posts!), I do find it curious that Kodak would not list a 32mm series VI slip ring if that is indeed the proper size for its own lens, as Top has stated it is. I have a little folder entitled "Kodak Filters and other Lens Attachments," dated "1-52," and the series VI slip rings (official Kodak name: "Kodak Adapter Rings") listed therein begin with 1-1/4 [inches, i.e. 31.5mm] and then 1-5/16 [inches, i.e. 33mm]. Nothing in between. Curiously, they don't give sizes in millimeters, in fact they don't even indicate that the given numbers are in inches!

The slip-on rings have little "fingers" which are bent to make a perfect fit. I can understand why they didn't want to offer them with a 1+-mm separation. It's all mute now. Lots were made, but lots are being thrown out with the trash every day.

In series VI, Kodak listed (1-52, folder cited in previous post) gradations of 32nds of an inch between 1-3/8" and 1-7/16" and 1-1/2". Thus we have 1-13/32" and 1-15/32" slip rings. As well, 1-21/32" was listed, and 1-1/32" in series V. Otherwise, there were slip rings every 16th of an inch between 5/8" and 2-1/2", plus 2-5/8".

Wonder if anybody has one of each size? In series VI there were ten sizes. Series IV, 2 sizes; V, 9; VII, 6; VIII, 9.

Kodak folder advises "If no listed size provides an exact fit, select the next larger listed size."
