Managed to get a deal on 4x5 holders of various brands. The tape holding the bottom flaps to the holder frame retired long ago, remove both dark slides and both flaps just fall off. Anyone know where you can buy the tape/glue to make repairs?

I believe there have been a number of suggestions for this on this helpboard in the past. Did you perform a search for them first?

The hinges on film holders consists of gaffers tape. I have a note that it is available at http://www.tapeonline.com I do not know anything about this source.

Many on-line photo places have the tape. I've bought rolls from B&H and I believe The View Camera Store, or it could have been calumet?

Go to any of the big site and simply search for black tape. It 'aint cheap, but unless you want to cover a full bellows, one roll will last you a long time...

If it is indeed gaffer's tape, the source I use is the nearest theater group. If you know anyone who is involved in live theater performance, you have a likely source for the tape. There will be rolls of it backstage, and while I would never (well, hardly ever) recommend a dishonest method, suffice it to say that no one is likely to miss a single roll. Back when I was a working musician playing in pit orchestras for musicals...well, I leave the rest to your imagination!

Well gaffer tape will certainly work, used it many times, but the original stuff is thinner and I've noticed that Gaffer tape does rub on the camera body so it MAY be shifting the holder SLIGHTLY. Never really had trouble with it.

Calumet lists what it says is the original stuff. I've also seen recommendations for bookbinder's tape. I have been using gaffer's tape.
