This is not the right topic, but this is not working for me so I have to post here.
I read that you can take a shot with an LF camera and have it developed all for less than fifty cents. Where would I find the film for this and where would I find the developer?
Thank You,

| You're in NYC. There's always B&H.
For mail/internet order, http://www.jandcphotography.com/ , http://www.freestylephoto.biz/sc_main.php , and I'm sure there are others. |

Is 4x5 sheet film available anywhere in faster speeds than ASA 400. I am looking for both color and B&W.

I don't know of any current films that are faster than 400 speed, is there a reason, you would require hyperspeed film? If your souping your own film, some of the guys/gals shoot their B&W films clear up to 3200 and then customize the the development process to accomidate the high over rating of speed, if you shooting slide film you can push and then adjust in development to accomidate.

In 35-millimeter I developed a habit of shooting fast, hand-held; moving about with people's laughter. It can work very well for group portraits.
Switching to medium format (a 6x9 Busch Pressman) with its shocking loss of depth of field forced me to accept that sometimes a portrait can be okay when somewhat out of focus. And sometimes I chance to focus right on the money anyway. I can email you an example if you like (Children chasing me).
But I know my odds will careen downward again now that I've just bought this 4x5 Speed Graphic (with an absent rangefinder yet), with 120% more surface area in the negative.
(I've never done my own developing, but often shoot in a land where commercial processing and printing are cheap.)
If I can't find faster film the only grace saving me may be that even excited subjects do seem to be more accomodating to the photographer, the bigger his camera is.*
Your suggestion of pushing the B&W is a great one, but I'd like to be able to do color work as well.
