Hello. I am a recent purchaser of a Crown View camera with a rigged back of which type I dont know. I does however take the wooden graflex 4x5 dual sheet holders. I am just learning this camera and lens and am going on an extended trip so I thought some instant film would be a good bet. Do I need an adapter? Can I use instant film in those holders mentioned? What is the best film to buy? Thanks for any help.

You can't use any instant film in a standard film holder...

Although there are a few different types of instant film holders, the best and most recommended in the Polaroid 545. The version of this holder are the old 545, new 545i and 545Pro which has a builtin timer and thermometer.

You can find the 545 holders new and used all over the place.

For film choices, see:
http://www.polaroid.com/service/filmdatasheets/4_5/index.html

Download the "4x5 Sheet Film Guide" first as it lists all the films. Any of the two digit film types will work with the 545's. Like 55, 59, 79, etc. The 3 digit films are for a different holder...

For B&W, Type 55 Pos/Neg is the most popluar because it will give you either a print or a negative. But it needs special processing.

For color, the Polacolor Pro 100 might be the best, but I don't shoot color...

If you search for 545 and Polaroid (here or anywhere else), you'll probably get all your questions answered...
