I've got a Crown graphic with top mounted rangefinder and have, with the help of several of you, managed to ascertain the correct cam and viewfinder mask for my lens and format. I've been testing the rangefinder but there seems to be a limit where it won't focus any closer...is this normal or is mine just off? I guess it's normal because moving the rails out to it's apparent limits and looking at the cam, it appears it's at the end of the little groove (if that make's any sense). So it seems I can only focus as close as 5 feet or thereabouts. This is ok but I'd love to focus closer without having to use the ground glass if possible.

Thanks
George

You're right the rangefinder does have limits. Even a 35mm rangefinder is limited to about four feet. We're lucky, because we have the GG for closer focusing. My 135mm and 152mm focusing scales both stop at six feet.

Have you tried extending the lens to the rail limit? My 135 lens yields a 1:1 image at 12" extention. Talk about your close focusing. Fine focus can only be achieved by moving the camera foward and/or back. Focus on GG. One of the nice things about using LF.
