Looking over that list. They used to make some pretty big roll film. Two different sizes that were just about 1/2 plate.

That there are two sizes seems odd. I infer that the same sequence of pictures -- the small group of soldiers in the setting suggestive of an invasion convoy -- contains both sizes? It would be unusual (though not inexplicable) if two cameras had been in use at the same time. This (again) seems to hint at the pix being enlargements made from one set of smaller negatives.

116 and 616 cameras were made to take eight 2½x4¼-in. frames or sixteen frames half that size, 2½x2-1/8 ins. There was another format less well known, 118, that made 3¼x4¼ frames. Neither of these seems to match the dimensions as given.

I finally finished the scanning for anyone interested in seeing D-Day through the eyes of a regular guy! No retouching yet, just rough scans. Enjoy.
