Anybody know the thickness of a factory lensboard? Did it vary between the various companies using 4x4 boards?

Nick,

At last count, I have documented over 50 different companies that used 4 X 4 boards and thicknesses from 1/16" to 1/8" and have seen a great amount of variation amoung the companies themselves.

A lot of these old camera companies seemed to have used what ever fit at the time...

Dave

The problem board is 1/5" of an inch. I'll look for some 1/8" plywood. I received my "new" claron today and decided to mount it in the Xenar shutter. The board was too thick to screw the back element in with the flange on the rear. I had to move the flange to the front. The board was fine with the Xenar. Thanks.
