I thought it might be you, and then the kicker was when you posted over at photo.net last night. I figured it would just be time before I ran into someone who had purchased glass from me, we have sold over 100 pieces now and have had a big name company request a sample to see if they want to offer it in their camera line, thanks for the recommend..

We all ought to plan an outing to either glacier or yellowstone one of these days in the future so we could shot together and get to know one another, we could call the group the 'Graflex Goons'

Funny how people want to have the party in a convenient location.

Cheers,

Hi Dan,

I correspond on a page about Yellowtone and we have come up with a group called the 'Loon' and believe it or not about 100 of them get together every year in Yellowstone and call it the 'Loonion' I am game to try something of this nature with the graflex users of the world and get together where ever and call it the Grafelx Goonion, east, west, north or south does not matter to me!

Graflex Goons, eh? I think I like it. A get together would be a lot of fun. I have a problem with the summer crowds at the parks in our region, though. Maybe early autumn?
Boy, I wish I didn't have so much on my plate right now. I would be in Bannack, MT photographing those neat old buildings. Again.

Boy oh boy, interesting things at photo.net on the thread about cutting up the graphic, the individual in his own way decide to do a little american bashing, my political correct answer lasted all of about 20 minutes before it was gone, or at least I can't find it now...

Hmmmm, interesting...

I wish I could have seen your reply And if you want to see mine, you better hurry because I am sure they will delete it too

I think my time with photonet is done. Lousy attitude from the members and staff! I'll stick to friendly places!

Well Rich,

If you look real quick you may be able to see a similar post that I just made, fortunatly I had the opportunity to make a couple of comments to this Kelly person as well...Photo.net did answer my inquiry about the message being deleted, stating their system logs don't show where it had been deleted(surprise) We will see how long this one lasts...

Well, I got to read your last post, and my response to being deleted, but I never got to see my own post... Someone must have been right there at that moment... Oh-well... Censorship seems to be part of modern life... I'll get over it, as I use my Speed complete with focal plane shutter

Nice post by the way!

Topic: How are you treated?

An after thought.... It wasn't a good answer or question.

Bringing the thread back on topic.

I had just recently taken my Crown Graphic to the local amusement park (Ceadar Point) with the gray case. I had expected the gate attendant to ask to show me what was in the box for seacurity reasons. This is after all a very well known park and possible target. I was planning to respond with "Oh just a camera and small tac nuke. You know, for when I need a very bright flash." I was dissapointed when I was let through without a comment. Must have been the tripod I was carrying. The park guests treated me with indiffrence, except for a few pubescent
twerps who made a few wise a** comments including one about my flash gun in the lid of the case. You can guess what. In other words I got no respect. I suppose a contributing factor for this is that I don't look old enough for the camera. After all I'm only 23.

I'm taking a guess that this might be typical responses in the U.S. At least in tourist trap U.S.

I use a 4X5 Linhof Master Technika, often hand-held, and often with a Graflite flashgun as well. I am astounded (but in a very positive way) that the Technika is still in production in Munich. The Technika was originally introduced in 1937, and the current version was last changed in the mid 1970's. This wonderful press camera also has a long and distinguished history.
Now if only Linhof would make a Grafmatic...

And can you imagine how much it would cost if they did!

But surely your camera has a Graflok back, and will accept a Grafmatic? Or maybe just shoved under the spring back will work? Plenty of Grafmatics out there, cheap.
