Looks like a slow day, so I'll bore you with this for all you folks tired of trying to use 120 film in 620 things like old cameras and 620 Adapta-Roll roll film holders: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=29977&item=2954967586

I bought a package of 6 a few days, after FixerFiend told me about them. When I get them, I'll post a user's report. Fred.

Fred,

Don't know what you have in mind, but read that uBuy description again: these spools are to let you use 120 film in 616 (that's "six-sixteen"), NOT 620, cameras. 616 cameras typically produced a 2-1/2" x 4-1/4" image, implying that 616 film was a tad wider than 120. In fact, as I understand it, 116:616 = 120:620. This means that the 616 spool is a tad longer than the 120 spool. Very much doubt that this will help you use 120 film in your 620 Adapt-a-Roll. I'm real curious what you're getting there, so be sure to let us know.

Henry

116/616 is 70mm unperforated film.

I hope he did.

And I'm very interested to learn whether they'll enable an Adapt-A-Roll 620 to take up on a 120 spool. I doubt they will, mainly because I don't think the holder will close with a 120 spool in the take up position. Maybe I should try again.

Cheers,

Dan

Sorry, guys, I obviously copied and pasted the wrong one. Here's what I bought:

And yes, this is the correct listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=29977&item=2954970739

Fred.

Okay, I got the adapters...and they are simply little thin-metal discs with 620-size holes, designed to attach to 120 spools with some contact cement or double-sided tape. I do know, also, that 120 spools are slightly longer than 620 spools. My Adapta-roll has film loaded in it, so I can't check that until I unload it. So, if the tolerances are close as far as length is concerned... as has been suggested...no help here. However, many old 620 cameras have a very tolerant spring on one end for the spools to clip into, so the adapters will work here.

The adapt-a roll I have has plenty of end play for the spools. In fact I had to use a washer to take up some of the play or the 620 spools would pop out of place. I got some of those adapters also and they look like they will work fine. Will let everone know after a test roll.
