Is this normal?-
On my Graflex 4x5 super D. all speeds seem to work well, with only one exeption:
the 1/30 of a second is sometimes making this
strange grinding noise, like the gears are not matching, or something is off. It is not very pronounced, and sometimes not present. Nevertheless, this speed is always accurate. Is it possible that by using this setting I will eventually somehow damage the shutter?
I apreciate any related or unrelated info.

Thank you so much!,

Not a normal situation, and strange that it occurs on only the one setting, and that it is not heard at all settings! I would not worry about it tho, it is likely that after some continual use, that the noise will dissappear! If it were a dry bearing, or a rough gear, the noise would occur at all settings! Email me at BSAUNDERS1@BAK.RR.COM
(lower case of coarse) and I will be able to advise you, should the condition persist ....OK Bert
