I can't believe I found this site!! What a GREAT resource. Whoever you are Don, THANKS.
I recently bought an Anniversary Speed and I'm hooked. What a marvelous camera and how lucky I was to make my initial foray into LF using this superb unit.
Dan you help on the date?
SER#=341099
Just out of curiousity, any idea what M.E.A.S. might mean. I'm sure it's some sort of personal ID but I found in interesting in that it is unlikely to be initials.

Hello Todd, where did you find the serial number? My understanding was that Graflex didn't put serial numbers on the Annie. If you've been surfing this site you know that the Anniversary Speed was manufactured in the early '40s. I assume that mine is a wartime camera because it has no chrome. I also assume that mine is a fairly early production camera because it came with a Carl Zeiss Jena 13.5cM lens and Jena ended up in East Germany after the war. But I don't see a way to be more accurate in dating the camera than that: c1940. Have fun with your camera. Dan

Dan,
The company started serial numbering their cameras as early as 1897, though they didn't actually manufacture cameras until about the turn of the century. I have an RB Cycle Graphic from about that time with a serial of 4839 a 1911 pre introduction Speed Graphic with a serial of 28207.
On Annies the serial number is located on the inside top of the box (turn the camera uside down) older cameras they stamp them on the inside left (where the side rangefinder's axle would come through.)
341099= 1944

Thanks to both Dan and Les.
Les is correct on the location of the serial number which is indeed located on the inside of the box top.
Dan, mine too is without chrome and that is an interesting point that I had not considered. Although my Annie came with a Kodak lens and a Graflex shutter. Wanna trade?
