What are the advantages/disadvantages of a Crown as opposed to a Century? They both seem about the same.
Thanks All |

Looking at the Graphic Cameras table in Graphic Graflex Photography, the only true benefit I see is the Crown adds an 1" of bellows over the Century. The Century should be lighter than the Crown, but all of the other features show them to be the same except for a body release that I never found to be reliable anyway. The optical viewfinder was optional on the Century as was the Kalart rangefinder on all of the cameras so look carefully at what you are buying.

Thanks, so it's basically a case of condition and cost, as opposed to model.

I like the Crown over the Century, because I have several 2x3's and I can switch the Graflok back around. I don't believe the backs are removable on the Century. Also I am old and I like the 1940 stuff. Russ |
