Just purchased an old Speed Graphic in excellent condition. Serial #224448. Would appreciate any information as to the date of manufacture. It has a range finder that looks like a Hugo Meyer but does not have a name on it. Focal plane shutter is crisp and looks as if the speeds are accurate. Camera has a Folmer Graphic plate on top. Would greatly appreciate any information |

Somethings amiss. What color is the camera? Is there any chrome trim? Where did you find the number?

The make of the rangefinder may be hidden by the flash bracket encircling it . Remove the bracket ( 4 screws) , and lo there it is stamped on the side --you probably have an early Kalart rangefinder . Ed |

Hycamcan: You are right. I removed the bracket and it is an early Kalart rangefinder. The serial number is stamped inside the top of the box. There is no chrome on the camera and the front wire sports finder is curved on the top. The lens is newer than the camera and is mounted in an aluminum lensboard. The camera also has a 9 1/2" F:5.6 Geortz Dagor Lens in a #2 Apex shutter. |

Well the curved top and no chrome IDs it as a Pre Anniversary. The Kalart rangefinder tells me its the late 30s. The serial number was part of a block reserved for National Graphics so it doesn't help much. I'm guessing '37-'39
