Please can anyone tell me what films backs will fit a pacemaker crown graphic 4 x5 , I would like to use cut sheet film and try polaroid film and can you use 120 roll on the pacemaker. Also is there an advantage in having more space where the shutter would have been postioned
Many Thanks
Great site, in the mean time will try to work out a few bits on my own (PS I have to order parts as they are NA over here (UK)

The Pacemaker Crown had three different backs available at one time. Take a look around the site to figure out which back you have. The common back for a Crown is either the Graflok back or the Graphic back aka spring back.

If you have a spring back you can use the Calumet C2 roll holder. It slides in like a film holder so you can use the ground glass to focus with. It has a 6x7cm format and can take 120 and 220 format.
While I haven't proven it, I've heard that spring back can use the 405 Polaroid back and I know it will take the 545 back as well. Grafmatics work well too.

If you have a Graflok back you can use all of the above plus the Graflex roll film holders, you can remove the ground glass and lock on a Grafmatic, 545 Polaroid and the 405 as well.

If you have a Graflex back then you will have to search for a roll film holder for a Graflex back because the other holders don't fit. The easiest way to identify a Graflex back is the absense of springs. If you have to remove the ground glass in order to put a film holder on the camera, and then move a slide lock to keep the holder there. It's a Graflex back.

I have both a Polaroid 545 and 405 for my pre-55 Speed Graphic with a spring back. Because of the thickness of the 405, I had to loosen the screws which hold down the springs about 1 turn, but both the polariod backs work great.
