I was wondering how long you should wait after cleaning a shutter with lighter fluid before screwing the lens elements back on? How long does it take before the fluid is completely evaporated?
Thanks for any input.

In my experience, I operate the iris (aperture) adjustment periodically over several hours until I see no sign of wetness on the leaves...if it appears to be dry, I replace the front plate and fire the shutter several times. If the leaves of the shutter appear dry, then I replace the lens elements. This all usually is ok after drying overnight. Fred.

"...fire the shutter several times"

yeah after the flames die out and the shutter cools off, it's pretty much dry... "-)

Just keep a charged fire extinguisher at a safe distance that someone can grab and put you out with before you become well done.
