Has anyone tried to modify one of these to accept 120 film?

I cut apart an older 116 to make a 2x9 panoramic on 120 film, using a 115 mm lens. It now has a 203 Optar. Since I added a lot of body it was nothing to put a film rail at the edge of the 120. I made spacers by cutting 120 spools. Current project is to do a similar body stretch but shoot 70mm Tri-X.
According to the Meduium Format pages on the web, you'll probly need at least a 616 spool for take up, since 116 spools are smaller than 120. You may be faced with re-spooling, but there is lots of info over there.
