The camera and case came as a set.

There is a metal tag on the case.

Camera, Still Picture View
4x5 inch Type KS-17 (A1)
Fed. Stock no 6720-926-5296
Contract No AF33(657-15203)
Serial no 15203 041
Graflex Inc USA

and on the camera is the same tag.

The photographer I bought it off of said it was a Graphic View II.

How can I tell?? the front says graphic view

There is a wonder article about the Graflex view cameras somewhere on this site, with pictures so you'll be able to tell if it's a GV I or II.
The tag you found is quite interesting as it proves that Speed Graphics weren't the only thing the government used. But alas that data was only good for the Government. Unless you can find a serial number on the camera itself I can't help

I looked all over and I can't find a serial number. Where would it be located at?

I looked at the pages.. and I thought it was a Graphic View II but the front plate on the camera says

"Graphic View"
Graflex General Precision"

this is a black camera. not the red like on the website.

Hello all
it's good to see the message board back up and running. Would anyone be able to date my GVII for me? The SN# is 483671824.
Thanks, Dan

All of the serial numbers I know of are 6 digits, where did you find a 9 digit number?

Les,
good question. I took another look at my camera and found that the number is actually 483671. And, no, I have no clue where the other four digits came from.
