I've just gotten a Focuspot and I'm trying to figure out how to hook it up to a 3-cell Graflex flash unit. From what I've been able to gather, it appears the cord I need has a female bi-post plug on one end (to attach to the Focuspot) and an ordinary household plug on the other (to attach to the flash unit). I rigged up one of these but couldn't get it to work. The flash unit I have is the pre-Graflite model which has two male bi-post connections flanking what looks like a standard household socket. The household plug won't go into the socket more than halfway though, and that doesn't seem right. The flash unit itself is in mint condition, all contact points clean and like new. I'd appreciate any help or advice -- there's also a sliding switch on the flash unit whose purpose I don't know.

I took out my Graflex 3cell Flash and both front BiPost and the front Household plugs only have power when the Red button on the rear is pushed, which would fire a bulb also and not be too handy for trying to focus. Unscrewing the Red button the bottom pin has +4V with respect to the case.
UPDATE:
Take a spare bulb and remove the glass and filament. Soder one side of a twin lead wire to the inside center of the bulb base and the other wire to the bulb base frame on the inside.
Remove the focus bulb and lens from the Graflex. Put the modified bulb base thru the Graflex focus bulb retainer ring and spring then into the bulb socket. Install the retainer ring and spring as if a bulb was in the socket. Connect the other ends of the wires to the focus spot. Focus spot should work with the light switch on the Graflex handle.
Store the Graflex Bulb Lens is a safe palce.

My 3 cell has five spots for house tipe plugs. And one of them has on it Battery + - that will be the spot to plug it up. Also the light has a switch on the end that you turn on. The screw on the side will let you take the bub out. I had to use a old house cord because the new ones have a large prong on one side. the cord came off a old TV.
