I noticed recently a warning on the Graflex instructions for the 120 roll holders to not expose the last quarter of a roll of color film. No such warning for B&W film. Did color 120 have a different leader length than B&W? Does the warning still apply. I have been using only B&W film thus far.

Hmmmm, that's the first I've heard of that. I can't for the life of me understand it. Of course, maybe things were different when it was built. I see no problem using the whole thing. I've run 120 slide film through them with no problem.

Hi!

On the B&H web site,
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=22855&is=REG
I found something surprising:
"Horseman manufactures 4 magazine type roll film backs (6x9 and 6x7cm formats with 120 or 220 type films) that fit their 6x9 series cameras and the rotating backs for the 4x5 cameras. They are smooth, well made and hold the film flat.

Note: These backs are based on the standard 2x3" type Graflok camera backs but will NOT fit all cameras equipped with a 2x3 Graflok back. These backs will fit all Horseman 6x9 cameras (VH, VH-R, 980 etc.), Arca-Swiss 6x9 cameras, the early Graflex Crown/Speed Graphic 2x3 cameras with a Graflok back and the Graflex XL cameras. They will NOT fit the Graflex 2x3 Century Graphic cameras or Mamiya Press cameras with a Graflok back."

What puzzles me is the last sentence. I have a Horseman RF holder 6x9 for 6x9 back, and it fits my 6x9 Century Graphic, serial number 504 573. ??

Good light! - Hening.

This is only a guess.

Several years ago I heard a rumor that the Mamiya RB backs fit the 2x3 Graphic cameras. So I went to Studio Center in Ann Arbor and wondered I could prove it.

Well that particular RB back would not fit a Century. The slider was just a little too tight and hit the top of the flange that it should have slid behind. I'm sure a shim here and some filing there would have got it to work. Maybe B&H had the same problem.
