Does anyone know of a speed graphic with a second trade name? I am looking at a Folmer and Schwing 1/4 plate camera as a resto project.
Can anyone push me in the right direction?
thanks
Gari

Graflex went through several transitions. Folmer and Schwing was the original maker's name.

The Speed Graphic was always a Speed Graphic, although there were competing companies for the press camera market. Some were more versitle, but heavy (like the Meridian and the Triamipro by Deardorf) others were very similar, like the Busch Pressman.

Harder to find are the Kalart 3x4 camera and the Besseler Press camera.

The Speed Graphic was made by the same company, always in Rochester NY, but their name changed many times from Folmer & Schwing Division of Eastman Kodak, to Folmer & Schwing Department of Ekc, to Folmer Graflex, to Graflex Inc. From the mid 50s on, Graflex Inc was owned by another company, first it was General Precision, then Singer (yes the sewing machine company).

Hi...I have a vintage Kalart folding press camera, NO 000068, with its original manual. I believe it is 3 1/4 x 4 1/4. It has been many years since I last used the camera.

I'd appreciate any info you may have on it, and if you have any idea of its value today.

Thanks,
