There are a couple of Adapt-a-Roll film backs up on eBay at the moment, converted to 120. I e-mailed the seller, and he's not adverse to offering shop services in the future. How many other folks here might be interested in this? I know lots of us use these.

Interesting. Did he mention price? Did he mention other services?

Cheers,

Dan

I'm not being too bothered with using a 620 take up spool so it would depend on price.

Now if the opening could be opened up that would be more interesting. It might be possible to open it to over 10cms wide.

Nick, I've been exchanging e-mails with the guy for a while. He's done some interesting things, including making a 6x12 holder from a 4x5 and a 2x3 AAR. I don't think it is possible simply to open one up.

Cheers,

Dan

6x12 I think is too big. The back isn't big enough for 6x12. But from measuring I think something closer to 6x10 might be possible from just increasing the opening.

Do you have any feeling how much all the work to turn the back into 6x12 might be?

Nick, Bryce Alvarez (reach him at BryceA@compuserve.com) told me that he'd cut up a 2x3 and a 4x5 holder, then glued the pieces back together. He suggested that a commercial product made that way would have to sell for at least $450. Also that the job could be done starting from a single 4x5 but that it wasn't very practical because of the effort required.

Cheers,

Dan

Badger sells the Shen 6x12 for about $400. OTOH I've heard it's not the best finished product.

I am trying to locate a converted (Adapt-a-Roll) to 120 for my Bush "C" 2 x 3 I missed
one on E-bay, and it looked like a nice one.
If anyone can help me line: tizoliz@aol.com

Well, you can ask Bryce. Otherwise, get a plain ordinary original AAR and respool exposed film to a 120 spool before sending it for processing. That's what changing bags are for.

Cheers,

Dan
